Education Specialist
Job Summary
The Education Specialist supports and builds childcare center staffs’ knowledge and expertise to achieve and maintain high-quality early childhood education. The Education Specialist ensures implementation of evidence-based curriculum and assessment measures to help centers achieve excellence in service delivery.

Position Duties & Responsibilities
The Education Specialist provides ongoing professional mentoring and assessment to childcare providers. They implement coaching and mentoring using innovative technological approaches and utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to train effectively. They build professional, cooperative relationships with center leaders and staff while maintaining an established child development center caseload. They utilize evaluation tools to assist providers with programmatic and business improvements, identify professional development needs for providers, and assist center leadership with identifying opportunities for themselves and their staff. They provide guidance in selecting materials and equipment necessary to achieve desired outcomes, participate in staff meetings, professional development, and interdepartmental activities, and collaborate with partner organizations to provide services to centers. They document statistical data in an accurate and timely manner, submit reports and prepare other documents as requested, meet regularly with their supervisor for updates, assignments, and information sharing, meet or exceed all established goals, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
The Education Specialist has strong oral and written communication skills and interacts effectively with people from various backgrounds and experiences. They are self-directed, work independently in a fast-paced environment, are technologically proficient in online instruction and remote work, and are highly proficient in Microsoft Suite. They possess efficient organizational and time management skills, work well in a team environment, are mission-focused and detail-oriented, and have sound judgment to resolve issues with available resources.
Additional Requirements
The Education Specialist has a valid Texas driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance, is fully vaccinated as defined by the CDC against COVID-19, passes an agency-administered comprehensive background check satisfactorily, has access to reliable transportation to travel throughout the metroplex, and is able to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
Required Education & Experience
A minimum of two years of employment in an early childhood, mentoring, or education role.
Preferred Education & Experience
A bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience as a Childcare Director or Assistant Director. Knowledge of national accreditation processes.
